An opportunity has arisen for a SHEQ ADVISOR to join the COMPLIANCE TEAM and to be based in the South of the UK.

The SHEQ Advisor will be responsible for:

• Ensuring that Styles&Wood maintain industry leading best practice in health and safety
• Ensuring SHEQ compliance throughout the area of responsibility and for escalating all issues identified
• Ensuring colleagues are made aware of the SHEQ issues and that the appropriate communication measures are in place
• Providing advice and support to stakeholders within Styles&Wood to prevent incidents and share best practice across the business.
• Having a detailed knowledge of the SHEQ Policy and associated plan, procedures and other relevant documentation
• Providing support to the Head of Compliance and operational team, with the objective of minimising business health and safety risk, including the implementation of new policies and procedures
• Supporting the business OHSAS18001, ISO14001 and ISO9001 certification process
• Carrying out site SHEQ inspections to ensure compliance with company policy, best practice and legal requirements

In order to succeed in this role, the successful candidate will have:

• Experience of working in M&E construction environments
• A NEBOSH Construction Certificate
• Experience of undertaking health and safety audits
• Accident and incident investigation experience
• Ability to challenge ways of working
• Excellent communication skills
• Initiative
• A full UK driving licence

Styles&Wood is seeking Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors to work on its expanding portfolio of projects. All candidates will be able to demonstrate past experience working on a range of projects.

The position will be based out of the Head Office in Sale and will include sites visits. Candidates should be ideally located within a reasonable travelling distance to the office.

You will be expected to undertake Quantity Surveying duties from project inception through to completion, including the preparation and negotiation of contract sums.

For the Senior Quantity Surveyor role you will be managing a team of Quantity Surveyors and therefore have the relevant experience.


– Minimum 2:1 degree in Quantity Surveying
– 4 years+ experience
– Senior Surveyors should have 5 years+ experience
– Used to working in a fast paced deadline driven environment
– Client focused mind set with a can do approach
– Excellent communication skills
– Able to work using own initiative and drive innovation to distinguish us from our competitors
